O'Neal Named DAC Defensive Player of Week
Dallas College North Lake sophomore middle blocker Megan O'Neal was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
O'Neal, a native of Red Oak, Texas, had 19 blocks, 20 digs, 12 aces and 52 kills in five matches for the Blazers, who went 1-5 during the week. O'Neal recorded six blocks in a five-set win at Seminole State and six more in a five-set loss to Coastal Bend. She had two solo blocks at Seminole State.
O'Neal led National Junior College Athletic Association Division III's Region V in aces during the week. She hit .300 in the win at Seminole State, and had a .296 attack percentage, banging down 13 balls in 27 swings, in a four-set loss to McCook Community College.
North Lake (3-6) hosts Hill College 6 p.m. Monday before heading on the road for six straight matches.
