No. 12 North Lake Outlasts No. 15 Richland

DALLAS – Dallas College North Lake's No. 12-ranked volleyball team beat No. 15 Dallas College Richland 28-26, 25-22, 14-25, 25-17 Thursday night.

The Blazers (9-11, 2-2 Dallas Athletic Conference) had 44 kills and 108 digs – with four players recording 20 or more digs.

North Lake hit .256 in the fourth set, putting away 14 kills. The Blazers had 13 kills in both the first and second sets.

Kennedy Kovar and Hailey Pennison each pounded 16 kills. Kovar had 22 digs and five blocks. Pennison had 20 digs. Katie Lloyd had 30 assists and 21 digs. Ava Mendez finished with 23 digs. Kynlee Rion added six kills, seven blocks and an ace.

It was the fourth time this season the Blazers had over 100 digs in a match.

North Lake will host Dallas College Cedar Valley 6 p.m. Monday to finish the first round of league play.
