Karlyn Dickens was named an assistant volleyball coach at Dallas College North Lake in July 2024.

In 2025, the Blazers went 12-16 overall, 4-6 in the Dallas Athletic Conference with a trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South District semifinals. Ava Mendez was named an NJCAA Division III Second Team All-American after cracking the school's season digs list at No. 5, while setting the school's five-set record for digs. Hailey Pennison finished her two-year Blazers career ranked No. 1 on the school's all-time kills list, Katie Lloyd No. 2 on the career aces list and No. 5 in career digs, while tying her single-match record for aces. 

In her first year in 2024, Dickens coached on a staff that guided North Lake to a fifth place finish in the NJCAA Division III national tournament. It was the first time in program history the Blazers qualified for the national tournament. The Blazers went 22-18 overall, 6-4 in the DAC, advancing to the NJCAA Division III South District championship for the second straight year. Shi'Miria Phillips was an NJCAA Division III Third Team All-American.

Dickens began coaching club volleyball for ages 12-18 in the North Texas Reegion in 2023.

Dickens was a middle hitter at Blinn College in 2017-18. Her team won the conference championship with a 9-1 record.
