Blazers Sending Seven to Four-Year Schools

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake's baseball program is sending seven players on to four-year schools.

Second baseman Garrett Gregory is headed to Tusculum University, an NCAA Division II school in Tennessee. Shortstop Tyler Yancey and pitcher Jackson Jones are moving on to East Texas Baptist University, an NCAA Division III school. Pitcher Gabby Aragon is headed to McMurry University, an NCAA Division III institution. Catcher Jackson Earle is off to Howard Payne University, an NCAA Division III school. Pitcher Romen Filla will play for Mary Hardin-Baylor University, an NCAA Division III school. Outfielder Bladen Biner is headed to East Central Oklahoma, an NCAA Division II school.

Gregory, a product of Marble Falls, Texas, batted .399 with eight doubles, a triple, 24 runs batted in, 10 stolen bases and 31 runs scored.

Yancey, a native of Whitesboro, Texas, hit .319 with a homer, nine doubles, three triples, 16 RBI, 13 stolen bases and 38 runs. He earned Second Team All-Dallas Athletic Conference honors.

Aragon, of Fort Worth, Texas, went 1-2 with two saves, a 3.55 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 66 innings pitched. He was a First Team All-DAC.

Jones, of Arlington, Texas, went 1-2 with two saves, a 7.12 earned run average and 28 strikeouts in 30.1 innings.

Earle, of North Richland Hills, Texas, had 113 putouts in 121 chances and a .975 fielding percentage. He batted .195 with one homer, four doubles, nine RBI, two stolen bases and 14 runs scored.

Filla, who hails from Austin, Texas, was 1-1 with a 7.11 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 12.2 innings.

Biner, of Burkburnett, Texas, batted .179 with one home run, six RBI, seven runs scored and two stolen bases. 

Bernethy, a product of Burleson, Texas, hit .378 with four doubles, 33 RBI and 11 stolen bases.
