Jimmy Martin was named assistant baseball coach at Dallas College North Lake in July 2025.

He is responsible for recruiting, working with hitters and infielders and administrative duties.

In his first year with the program, Martin was part of a staff that coached the Blazers to a 27-30 record in 2026, which included seven weeks in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III rankings. The Blazers were ranked as high as No. 4 in the country. North Lake had a 16-14 DAC record to finish third in the league. Cyler Moore belted a school-record 14 home runs, including three in one game to earn First Team All-DAC honors, along with Salvador De La Garza, Grayson Brown and Jayden Honey. Carson Pruett and Matthew Wendorf earned NJCAA All-Academic honors, while Wendorf and Makoy Stone were College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recipients.

Since May 2023, Martin has worked as a scout for Perfect Game USA. He also is an assistant coach at Covenant Christian Academy of Colleyville, Texas since August 2022. He coached Matthew Boughton, who was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 11th round of the 2025 Major League Baseball draft.

Since September 2019, Martin has served as a youth academy coach for Texas Rangers Baseball Club. In this role, he's utilized performance trackers and data analysis to make informed decisions for game play, while contributing to success in the RBI Southwest Regional Tournament for 18-under in 2021 and 15U in 2022.

From 2022-24, he was a coach for USA Baseball, assessing player performance during tryouts for 14-16U USA National Team. From January 2021 until October 2022, Martin was an assistant coach at Fort Worth Christian School. 

Martin is pursuing a bachelor's degree expected to be completed in December 2025 at The University of Texas at Arlington.
