Moore, Stone Sweep DAC Players of Week
IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake's Cyler Moore and Makoy Stone were named the Dallas Athletic Conference Baseball Players of the Week. Moore earned the league's Hitter of the Week, and Stone the Pitcher of the Week.
A sophomore left fielder from Fort Worth, Moore batted .500, going 10 for 20 with five home runs, 13 runs batted in, a double, seven runs scored and a walk as the Blazers went 4-0 last week. Moore blasted a school-record three homers, and had six RBI, going 4 for 6 with a walk in an 11-inning 19-17 win over Dallas College Cedar Valley to sweep a three-game DAC series. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and two RBI a day earlier in a 5-4 victory over the Suns, which also went 11 innings. Moore hit safely in all four games, collecting multiple hits in three of the four wins.
Also used as a pitcher in the first game of the series against Cedar Valley – a 7-6 victory – he struck out two batters in one inning to record a save.
Moore is hitting .389 with six home runs, seven doubles and 27 RBI this season. His three homers is the most in a game in program history, with records being kept since 2013.
A sophomore left-hander from Tomball, Texas, Stone went 1-0, tossing four innings of scoreless relief in Game 2 of the series with the Suns to earn the win. He struck out a season-high six batters, and allowed a hit and a walk.
Stone improved to 2-0 with a save and 3.55 earned run average in eight appearances out of the bullpen this season.
