North Lake Hosts District Quarterfinals Wednesday

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake will host the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District Men's Basketball Tournament quarterfinals Wednesday.

The semifinals and championship rounds will be played at Dallas College Richland Friday and Saturday Feb. 27-28.

Third-seeded North Lake meets No. 6 Dallas College Mountain View in the first quarterfinal. The Blazers have been ranked in the Top 10 since Jan. 27. No. 4 seed Dallas College Brookhaven meets fifth-seeded Dallas College Cedar Valley in the second quarterfinal.

Top-seed Richland won the Dallas Athletic Conference regular season championship, marking the second consecutive year the Thunderducks captured the league title. Richland rattled off 16 straight wins, rising to No. 1 in the NJCAA Division III national rankings on Feb. 2.

Richland and No. 2 seed Dallas College Eastfield will receive quarterfinal byes. Eastfield snapped Richland's 16-game win streak with a 77-54 victory in the final week of the regular season. The Harvester Bees have been ranked in the Top 10 since the first poll in January.

Games will be streamed on the DAC Sports Network.
