Blazers Claim 5 All-DAC Honors

DALLAS – Dallas College North Lake men's basketball's Romiel Carter and Zach Thompson earned First Team All-Dallas Athletic Conference honors.

Blazer teammates Santana Spivey, Zaedyn Owens and Jordan Edwards received Second Team awards.

A freshman forward from Carrollton, Texas, Carter leads North Lake in scoring (15.3) and rebounding (7.9). He averages 1.8 steals and just under a block per game. He's shooting 64.8 percent from the field.

A freshman guard from Forney, Texas, Thompson is second on the team in scoring (13.1) and steals per game (1.7) and third in rebounding (5.2). He's a 52.1 percent field goal shooter, and hits 70.3 percent at the free throw line.

Spivey, a sophomore from Grand Prairie, Texas, is scoring 10.6 points per game, and is an 82.4 percent free throw shooter. He's averaging just under three rebounds and one steal per game.

Owens, a freshman forward from Mesquite, Texas, is averaging 10.8 points and 4.8 rebounds, while shooting 43.9 percent from the floor and 71.1 percent at the free throw stripe.

A freshman forward from Dallas, Edwards is averaging 10.3 points and 5.8 rebounds, which is second on the team. He shoots 46.5 percent from the floor and just under 68 percent from the free throw line.

North Lake (22-10) meets the winner of Montgomery County Community College (21-4) and Ridgewater College (22-6) in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III quarterfinals 7 p.m. CT Thursday in Herkimer, New York.
